The MLB is helping to fund the hopes and dreams for 30, four-year, Jackie Robinson Foundation scholarships. The foundation is helping revive baseball in Inner Cities, MLB Urban Youth Academies, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The Jackie Robinson Foundation assist 225 students annually to help pay for school. Commissioner Rob Manfred, MLB, said in a statement that baseball wants to “reflect Jackie’s vision for our American society and positively impact future generations.”
The Foundation is a great way for children to see that they can continue their education at the next level, by helping them do so. The foundation also helps children who think that they might not be able to do much in life, by introducing them to the game of baseball and the skills and values they will learn from it will help them grow and to be able to great things in life.
